Membership Fee Structure
The Vancouver Pickleball Association (VPA) charges an annual membership fee. In line with national policy, members must also register for Pickleball BC and Pickleball Canada memberships at the same time. Please note that this requirement is set at a national level and not by VPA specifically; the wording matches that on the registration page.
Fee Details
- VPA Membership Fee: $10 per year
- Pickleball Canada Membership: $10 per year
- Pickleball BC Membership: $7.50 per year
- Total annual cost including processing fees: $29.44
The membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st, in alignment with Pickleball Canada and Pickleball BC.
Discounts are available for certain groups:
- Youth (under 19 years of age): VPA membership fee is waived
- Seniors+ (75 years or older): VPA membership fee is waived
If you already hold valid memberships with Pickleball BC and Pickleball Canada, you will not be charged for those again; only the VPA membership fee will apply.
Allocation of Membership Fees
Your annual fees are allocated as follows:
- $7.50 for Pickleball BC membership (waived if already a member)
- $10.00 for Pickleball Canada membership, which includes insurance benefits (waived if already a member)
- The VPA portion of the fee, together with grants, sponsorships, and donations, is invested in association initiatives
Investments and Initiatives
- Working with the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation (VBPR) to identify new outdoor court options
- Renting facilities for member-only play, including:

- Publicity efforts may include both free and paid activities, such as news segments and advertisements
- Securing grants, sponsorships, and donations to support VPA goals
- Maintaining professional governance of the association
- Building relationships with neighbouring pickleball associations and clubs throughout the Lower Mainland and BC, which could involve reciprocal play rights, leagues, tournaments, and ladders
